Chevron, I love Mexican food and really miss it (I lived a year in Atlanta, USA - where there are a lot of family run authentic Mexican restaurants).

Thank you for sharing this!

To make sure I get this right: are slivered almonds those cut like a little thin leaf? (English is my second language, so sometimes I am not sure about words)

Yes, 'slivered almonds are very thinly cut.

This dish is quite sweet and you can make it very spicy. The recipe I have posted is for a spicy dish.

I will be putting up some others soon.

If you like foods like this, I get refried beans locally to me in Kent made by 'Discovery'. And they do them as traditional refried or spicy. I always buy the spicy ones.
I heat the beans and grate strong cheddar cheese. With a good spoonful of beans, cheese and salsa (HOT) together on a flour tortilla, and wrapped, they make a great filling snack that tastes great. Just heat them up in the microwave for half a minute each. I microwave three a time for about a minute.

Then, there's the 'breakfast burrito'.
Scrambled eggs, chopped, cooked bacon and onion mixed together and wrapped in a flour tortilla and heated up in the microwave. Again, filling and delicious.
