Well this is kind of a food related story,but more about a piece of equipment you would use in the kitchen.Recently i was looking to purchase a heat diffuser,so i asked the shop assistant where they were,she pointed them out to me and gave me a cheeky grin,i did not think anything about it went up to the counter to pay for the diffuser and the young lady who served me also gave me a cheeky grin,at this point i'm thinking this is a bit weird.Well i got home and had a closer look at the product that i had brought it was German made,but what i did not notice was the german translation for a heat diffuser is a KOCHPLATTE,hence the cheeky grins from the sales assistants |

Well i've got another little story that happened to me when i was at catering college.It was quite close to xmas so the training restaurant was kitted out with loads of xmas decorations it looked lovely.My college tutor picked me to do some flambé recipes in front of the customers as he thought it would entertain them and it would be good practice for me as i was quite shy when i was young.So i done the first couple of tables no problem the smell of the alcohol buring was fantastic everyone was loving it,so now i'm getting a bit cocky went to do the third table used far to much brandy,next thing i know the most gigantic flame you have ever seen reaches the ceiling catches the xmas decorations alight, everyone's evacuated from the restaurant and me feeling totally embarrassed and my college tutor very |

I was cooking liver and bacon for some elderly clients at one of my many jobs,when this little old dear came up to the serving hatch and requested something else,so i tried to presuade her to have the liver saying it was slowly braised with onions and bacon trying to give a good sales pitch,then she replied that she use to really love liver but due to her having a liver transplant two months previous she just could not face eating it |

Daughter raced home from work the other night, tired and hungry she decided on sausages in a simmer curry sauce with mashed potatoes. In her haste she grabbed what she thought was the curry simmer sauce and added it to her sausages, only to find that she had grabbed the apricot chicken, an almost identical colour to the curry sauce.
Note: The recipe for Apricot sausages will not appear on recipe swap! Lol.
